Air exchanger question

How often do you run(have your exchanger plugged in)?

Mine is on an automatic controller. I typically have it set to intermittent(green). I believe it is on for 20minutes, off for 40. I’ve tested it on the other modes and it makes the furnace run way too much.

I turn mine off in the cooling season.

Intermittent or low. NEVER high. Only run mine in the winter.
There are 2 types of air exchangers
HRV – heat recovery ventilator
ERV – energy recovery ventilator

HRV are used more in cold climate
ERV are used more in warmer climates

Very, very important to clean the 2 filters in the unit every few months and the exchange filter once a year.
EVEN more importantly clean the intake screen on the out side of your home frequently. Most people don’t even know about this and they get packed with debris mostly cottonwood seed.

Same as Munchy and EPG

Never use mine, unhooked it. Waste of money and space.

I only run mine if it is dry out and the humidity inside is high.
Otherwise it brings in humid air.
