I have both units, but just curious in this day and age why you would pick the lx7 over the helix 7?

You can get refurbished vexilars at there stores for up to 50% off so you might want to look at that

I decided on the Marcum because I was on my way to the lake and Fleet Farm in St Cloud had them in stock. I went away from the flasher type due to the noise and the comments that they need to be rebuilt due to the mechanical wear. In a small house you can really notice the noise the Vexilar flasher made. The Marcum was easy to set up and adjust, ready to go out of the box.

I see the IDO guys using them successfully, so they have to be good.

By the way, I did catch fish and it was cool to see them come in to hit my lures.

Yes, I understand why you wouldn’t go with the vexilar. Just curious why you didn’t want the mapping capabilities of the helix 7 for less money. Just interested in what is selling people.

I would also lean toward the Marcum over the helix. The helix mapping is great but the lx6 and 7 are very hard to beat. I can use other devices for mapping.

I have the lx7 and I really like it. Just curious what you like more about it than the helix, I like my helix too.
