Guys I’m looking for some advise. Please feel free to chime in with you thoughts.

I bought a cheap snowmobile last winter 97 Ski Doo Formula III for ice fishing but never had to use it since we were driving trucks on the ice so early.
I started it up over the summer a few times just to make sure it was running but this winter it won’t start. I tried some minor things to get it running and don’t want to take it into a repair shop cause the snowmobile isn’t worth much and I’m afraid I’ll have more money in repairs than what i paid for it. To make things ever bettter I also lost the registration (wife threw it away) right after I bought it so I never put it in my name. Sorry for the long rant but I’m not sure what I should do. Sell it? Trade it?

Check the kill switch you might have bumped it. If you ran it and there is gas in it there is no reason for it not to start.

pull the plugs , make sure they spark.

If they do dump a few table spoons of fuel down the plug holes and install plugs and wires then see if it fires.

Thanks Mark. I changed the plugs the other day but didn’t try the fuel trick.

Is it inside where it is warm or in freezing conditions? If there is water in the fuel system it would run in the summer time and freeze up in the winter.

It has to sit outside on the side of the house. No room in the garage. I’ll try a few more things and if I can’t get it to consistently start I’ll try and sell it for a couple hundred bucks. I want a 4 wheeler anyway.

NEVER SPRAY STARTING FLUID IN A GAS ENGINE ! YOU WILL DRY OUT THE CYLINDERS WALLS…

Use WD-40 instead it will apply an oil base on the cylinders and is very flammable !
