Adjusting sights on Henry .22

My Henry doesn’t have a set screw to loosen and then tap to adjust for windage. What’s the best way to adjust this sight for windage? I’m shooting about two inches left at 25 yards. Otherwise, an accurate little gun!

Non-adjustable iron sights generally need to be drifted with a brass punch. Do NOT use a steel punch, you’ll scar the sight of the rifle.

This is strictly a trial and error method as there is no way to determine how hard of a whack gets you exactly what you need.

That is the method I’m familiar with. Others may have other ideas.

That’s what I was thinking, but most Henrys have a set screw to loosen before you tap/drift. This one doesn’t. I’m chicken to drift a sight that looks so “fixed”

Brass punch – thanks for that tip. I would not have known.

And when you get a nice set of brass punches, don’t leave them in your tool chest punch drawer with all your steel punches. If you do, your dad or uncle Al or whatever other hamfisted relatives you have around will grab one and whack it with a 5-pound sledgehammer to drive out a big ol’ steel pin that has been rusted in place since 1967…

Not that this has happened to me…
