lol I bought an old box stuffed with tackle a few years ago. The box was metal and was in tough shape. Inside I found an old cigarette that had ten dollars and maybe 10 licenses the oldest of which was 1940. Interesting stuff. I got more out of the old licenses than I did the tackle in the antique shop.

That would make a super awesome garage poster BK. Where did you find that pic/rule book?

It’s not mine Evan. It was found at either the Hutchinson or New Ulm DNR office.

Did you notice that was during the DNR’s early conservative reg period. There is a 15 total fish bag for an aggregate catch of any two listed species or group of species for which there is a listed limit.

    ie
8 Walleye and 7 Pike (Pickerel) = Daily Limit
1 Walleye and 14 (Sunfish Rockbass etc group)= Daily Limit
5 Walleye, 5 Pike (Pickerel), and 5 Crappie = Not allowed too many species groups harvested

I thought the regs were hard to figure out now!

BK, I have an artist on at work flattening the image so it will print nice and look original. Thankfully its a very Hi-Res image so it will make an awesome poster.

I might just do it 11 x 17. However, the bigger it is the more effect it would have…

Old timers down in Red Wing still call saugers “sand pike”. Pretty cool find there, BK.

Very cool and interesting. Why have the names of the fish species seemed to have changed so much?

We have people in the St Croix area that talk about Sand Pike yet today.

I remember growing up and the old guys (in their 30’s) talking about Walleyed Pike and Great Northern Pike. Crap! That might have been 50 some years ago!
