How are accesses for a 21’ glass boat? I’m assuming water is down, I haven’t been up since beginning of June. Any access capable of that size right now on West or North end?

Sha bush is good. Shallow heading out the channel, but okay and favor the port side on the way out. Wouldn’t leave a vehicle there after dark though…noticed lots of broken glass a couple of weeks ago.
Terry’s is usually good too. Haven’t been there this year.
Never have launched from Garrison and have heard the northern public launches are rough. Not sure if that is fact.

I would be hesitant to use Sha Bush Kung now. The actual access point in the little harbor is fine, but the channel between that and the main lake is very shallow. My parents stopped using it a couple weeks ago because it was so shallow there and they have a 21 foot Warrior. Eddy’s or Terry’s would be a safer option even if you have to pay to use them.

Erik SwensonPosts: 431July 29, 2021 at 2:22 pm #2051179Yeah, Sha bush pretty shallow a couple of weeks ago. I do have an 18.5′ tin boat and I believe it drafts 1′ 7″ if that helps. Don’t think the lake is any lower since then. Some storms have poured a little bit of water in. Would agree there are better spots though.
Thanks Clown. That confirms the north launch situation.
Terry’s should be good, Craig. Good bait there too unless you have a favorite stop.

If your talking about Cash’s landing the Mille Lacs county sheriff’s office is telling people to be careful. Lot’s of vehicle theft.

Been that way since Jesus was a little boy. I use to (years & years ago) launch there all the time. I was always off the water, packed and gone long before dark.
Alex FoxPosts: 426August 2, 2021 at 9:55 am #2051904Was up over the weekend, the lake is down another few inches even with the storms. We’ve been shoving our boat off the lift since June, one neighbor couldn’t get their boat off at all this past weekend. If we don’t get some rain we’re going to be screwed on the north end trying to get boats out. The north end sand depth always varies, but we were at ankle depth in some spots.
August 2, 2021 at 4:54 pm #2052016I was able to put in garrison 9 days ago. Didn’t fish there at all this week but I’d imagine I could still get in. Just keep the motor trimmed up. I have a warrior 2090 and it was plenty deep for me.
August 24, 2021 at 8:57 am #2056277Well, my access in our association harbor is unusable now. (South side of Big Point) I’ll be trailering to other accesses for the foreseeable future.
I did see boats using Liberty. Any first hand reports on how that went? How about the access at the Wharf? Harbor looks pretty low there too! Assume Hunters is good to go?
Any others to stay away from? Especially for 18-20 foot glass boats.

August 24, 2021 at 5:00 pm #2056430We landed a 20 footer at Cove Bay public access yesterday with no issues, it’s still in great shape.

Thanks! I like that access! Any other favorable reports out there?

IceKing8Posts: 10August 27, 2021 at 1:41 pm #2057114Not sure about accesses but i have learned that Sweet Marthas cookies are too expensive and over rated.
RipjiggenPosts: 11824August 27, 2021 at 4:59 pm #2057169still thinking out in the mud and basins this time of year?
Not for me.
West side garrison and myr mar public acces still have tandem axels putting in as well as several private launches in that area. No issues with my 20ft glass boat. Haven’t been over on your side Jon in a month or so, but have to imagine Liberty is fine.RipjiggenPosts: 11824September 21, 2021 at 11:17 am #2062264Tried Garrison public access this past weekend. Made it out with no issue. Headed back in bottomed out on the power loading sediment pile. It’s real shallow. I will be using private accesses from now on.

RipjiggenPosts: 11824September 21, 2021 at 3:16 pm #2062364Thanks, was hoping it cooled down a bit in last two weeks but guess not
