They are making a new pavilion this summer-Seems like if a private contractor is working with a public site like a park or library
the site is completely closed, for a private business like a restaurant they have a sign that says:YES! we are OPEN during construction! Guessing the private business pushes back hard when the construction people ask that they close down.

MINNEAPOLIS — Boaters can once again take to Lake Bde Maka Ska, as the boat launch opened early Friday morning.

The Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board said with the launch’s reopening, boaters will have access to the lake throughout the rest of the season during regular business hours.

The launch has been closed since May while crews work to finish the final phase of construction on its pavilion, which was destroyed by a fire in 2019. When all is said and done, the construction project is projected to total $8 million.

They had to fully close that access for a year-public sector for you.

The original plans were going to close the boat launch and move it somewhere else on the lake. I wonder why that changed. Parking would’ve been easier to find elsewhere on the lake.

Parking is bad, go early if you go, yet you cannot go too early or the access is chained off. On the plus side the average size of bass is good always have a shot at a musky or at least a chunky pike & the lake is surprisingly quiet (no gas motors allowed) Moving the launch also would have been good because that area by the pavilion gets very busy so launching & loading can be tricky, always have your partner or weed inspector watch as you back in because those people running & rolling will not watch out at all!
