I believe that is normal judging by the response from glenn-d from another thread.

He said, “Just put my Marcum Shuttle together and noticed after charging it up that it runs 12.7 volts while the Dakota Lithium we got in the buyers group runs 13.4”

My LX7 on my Shuttle reads 12.5V as well but has not been an issue at all…been out a dozen times chasing cappies…I have the built-in light on as soon as it starts to get dark and still have over 80% after staying out 6hrs on several trips. Great product and love that fact that it makes the screen sit up a little higher as well….easier to read…does not get splashed on as much.

Got my Dakota battery today. The Marcum Shuttle charger charges at 12.6 volts.
The Dakota charger charges at 14.8 volts.
    Both batteries are 12 volt.
The extra voltage with the Dakota charger is probably more of what the call a surface charge and will be used up fast and take it down to the 12.5 to 12.6
    volt normal.

I haven’t taken a Marcum shuttle apart, but it’s probably only a three cell battery. I’d guess three 3.7 volt cells that charge to 4.2volts each.

The Dakota uses four 3.2 volt cell packs in series that each fully charge to 3.7volts.
