A couple loaves of cinnamon/raisin bread. About 61 years ago my grandmother taught me how to make bread and to this day I enjoy making a loaf now and then. While I really like the cinnamon/raisin I think my favorite is a honey/oatmeal, wheat flour, based bread. That will be the next batch over the weekend.

I haven’t made bread in years but nothing from the store beats homemade. I just checked the cupboard and the #3 zip top bag I have has a best by date of Sep 2022. blush I should probably get a new bag. I pretty much only use a few tablespoons at a time for gravy or dusting some meat before searing.

Nothing frozen in the bread department in this house….Glenn.

Pickle…. using fresh ingredients is a must, especially the yeast. I buy the yeast in a 4 ounce jar and keep it in the fridge. I measure out whatever amount I am going to need and let it warn to room temp in a bowl.

Yeast breads are great, also like to make quick breads. Favorites are cottage dill bread and date nut bread.

I have a recipe someplace from my uncle for homemade whole wheat bread. I think it makes 12 loaves. shock They used to make it and freeze it. Some of my best memories were pheasant and deer hunting at his place which was my dad’s family farm. The best was right out of the oven with butter and honey from his hives. Then in the evening, take a wood-fired sauna. Yep, they were Finns.

Next weekend I’m on a mission to make homemade bread. We just got a new stand mixer and I’ve been itching to use it.

I don’t do bread, but have a pizza oven. This one is fresh from the Ooni.

Also testing to see if I can post pics with the update.

Careful if you start doing homemade sourdough, it leads to a chicken coop, more farm animals, home schooling and a fallout bunker! (not that there is anything wrong with that) rotflol rotflol rotflol JK!
