Recently upgraded to the Ulterra and just digging into all the features that come with this unit. The question is are guys installing the heading sensor w/ the ulterra and are there any other benefits of the heading sensor (other than spot jog) that i am unaware of?

Without hesitation, install the remote heading sensor. I’m not a MinnKota expert, but I will tell you that the autopilot feature works significantly better with the remote heading sensor. I’m wired so that I can switch the heading sensor on and off. The new spot lock has been great so far.
