Those of you who like Shinedown, check out Smith and Meyers, they are the guys from Shinedown and do a bunch of covers

Townes Van Zandt covered Springsteens “Racing in the streets “. He also did the Stones “Dead flowers “. Great covers for one of the best songwriters ever.GG Allin covered Warren Zevons Carmelita, GG was a wasted mess of a human but he did great here.

That’s the channel I have on in my truck 90 percent of the time

Sirius XM has been a game changer for me to discover new metal and hard rock. Liquid Metal and Octane…mix in Lithium and Turbo sometimes.

I’m not a huge cover fan but Taylor Swift’s song Blank Space was covered by I Prevail. I dig that one.

There was a local Fargo band named “The Suit” that covered Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance” many years ago. They were an awesome local band.

A-ha “Take on Me” unplugged version.

The original is wildly successful. The unplugged is recent and they are old. The song is much more emotional unplugged.

Theory of a Dead Man does a great remake as well. Tough to top Corey Taylor’s though. Don’t even know who sings the OG

Two that come to mind are the Husker Du cover of the Byrds “Eight Miles High” and both the Uncle Tupelo & Sex Pistols covers of the Stooges “I Wanna Be Your Dog”.

    Some of my favorites are:
Wish you were here- Avenged Sevenfold (somehow just found out about this about a month ago, probably my favorite)
Blinded by the Light- Manfred Mann’s Earth Band
    Cars- Fear Factory
    99 Red Balloons- Goldfinger
I don’t wanna be me- Trivium
    Land of Confusion- Disturbed
    King of Pain- Mudvayne

I really like heavier re-imagining of older songs!

Same here. I’d add these to Snake ii’s list.

    Metallica remakes of:
    Last Caress/Green Hell (Misfits)
    Breadfan (Budgie)
    Am I Evil? (Diamond Head)
    Blitzkrieg (Blitzkrieg)

Everything after the Justice album is guaranteed to get turned off. I think I just about puked when I first heard Nothing Else Matters and Unforgiven and haven’t gotten over it yet.

Ministry did this with their own song “Every Day is Halloween”. I suspect the remake is more of what Alain Jourgensen wanted (vs the Ministry original release).
