We decided to take a short afternoon trip over to castle rock yesterday afternoon, figured it would be safe on a post labor day Saturday (it was). Tried the same area we hit this time last fall and they were there again, slightly larger this year but all small with the two largest at 14″. I was hopong they would be therr so we would stand a chance to catching a bunch even if small and we were able to catch the first walleye that my son reeled in himself on his own pole. Was trolling amd he picked out a lure himself that he wanted (with some guidance to be sure it was the right depth runner).
He saw the campground as we drove out and wants to camp the next time we go.
