A Double?

Just getting started out on the hunt for big flats last night and I got in to what is my biggest to date.

As soon as I set the hook on that fish, I was also hooked, hooked on flatheads that is. So no, not a true double in the sense you were were thinking. But without a doubt two things were hooked at the same exact moment. Myself, and that catfish.

By no means was it a monster but for me this fish is pivotal in building confidence and i learned a great deal just last night alone.

I would just like to say a sincere thank you to those that helped me out and pointed me in the right direction! You know who you are.

Another catfish junkie was born last night. I’m already looking forward to the next time I can get out. Went and got 5 nice bullies this morning. Anyways that’s all I have for now. Keep your tips up and drags set, cheers.

Congratulations on your 1st Flat. It is almost 1:00am and I’m just coming in from a long night of chasing flats – with another skunk on the board. I’m glad to see someone has found them. Twins lost and I got skunked. The weather was perfect though and I caught some nice bait. Bait was everywhere tonight and I caught some nice suckers and sheepshead pretty easily to use for bait. When the bait bite is good the flats are not far behind. I’ll be after them again tomorrow. Weather looks perfect.

Thanks a lot Steve! I an totally obsessed with these flatheads now its basically all I can think about!

Took my 3 year old son out tonight and we had 3 bites but couldn’t close the deal. Pretty encouraging for a new to me spot.

Hope your luck turns around soon. Judging by my some of your old posts on IDO looks like your a cat veteran! I’m sure it wont be too long till your slinging 40lbers in the boat!
