This past Monday June 11th I was fortunate to fish with brothers John and Alan Emmel. They made the trip from the suburbs of Chicago to enjoy a beautiful day on the bay. A combination of YUM Dingers and All Terrain swim jigs brought in 12 smallmouths. We went on one stretch (what I call the spawn bite) where we hooked and lost 8 fish in a row. Alot of action and a warm soft breeze made for a fun day for us three. All the fish we caught were in 2 ft of water and less on beds. The surprise of the day was the 27″ walleye I caught on a Stanley Icon spinnerbait fishing the deep weeds. Congrats to Allan for catching the biggest smallie of his fishing career. Here are some pics.
Thank you John and Allan Emmel!!
