anyone else spear fish in the summer? i bought a harpoon a couple years ago and it is a lot of fun. Those carp can be elusive critters in the summer, it is almost like spot and stalk deer hunting.

I also only bowfish but have heard of some trying it…..Not sure if many stick with it.

Nice Brian……I didn’t even think of that when I posted it.

I know this question was posted 4 years ago, but I just got on board this forum. I’m big into spearfishing after living on both coasts and doing saltwater spearfishing for many years. I have a blast here in the metro and can’t believe more people don’t do it. It’s an awesome and addictive sport but you can’t be squeamish about weeds, leeches and occasionally bad vis.

Post here if you have any questions on how to get started and I’ll be glad to help.

I was wondering what’s a good starter spear that isn’t too hard on the wallet? Any other spearing tips are also greatly appreciated.
