I have a 998 si/di on my console that was networked with a 959 but the 959 fried this weekend on the WI opener. HB wants $338 to open it up and its not worth that even if its running so I am putting a helix 10 G2N on the bow to replace the 959. I’m wondering if they link the same and if I will be able to see the SI screen on my helix 10? I don’t want to run a separate transducer down the shaft of my terrova, I will just continue to use the ducer that’s in the TM. The sales rep at scheels told me its just a plug and play with the same connections as the 959 and that I would be able to see the SI from my console 998…

    Thanks,

    Correct.

You will not be able to utilize chirp… But you ain’t missing anything groundbreaking there.

If you shut off Mega and shut off Chirp on the Helix 10 you can share SI at 455/800 and can share 2D sonar. If you want to use the new Mega G2N Helix 10 with all of the new technology it brings to the table you will not be able to share sonar or imaging from Helix 10 to 998.

I can’t remember if the 959 units had the screw in ethernet cord, or the push in type. If they had the screw in type, you’ll just need a short 1ft ethernet adapter cable (AS EC QDE), which converts the screw in ethernet cable to the plug type on the new Helix 10.
