Does anyone have any experience changing the fuel sending units, there is about 3 to 31/2 inches between the tanks and deck?
Can you angle them into the tank? WEMA USA Fuel/ Level Sensor – SAE 5 hole looks the hardest compared to Moeller Marine Electric Fuel Tank Sending Unit.

Just replaced the unit on an older Crestliner. Had what looked like the Moeller originally, installed new with the Moeller model. Had a few angles to the float, all you got to do is measure your tank and unit, then have the float max the sensor out at top, then bottom. Takes a little time and couple pliers, but after that and a new gauge everything works as it should.

Had about as much room as yourself with mine. No issues. While I was at it snipped off all connectors and redid those as well. Battery disconnected!

Should add the wire can be snipped to whichever length is needed, was told this at shop I picked it up. Mine might have been 8″ max after cut, tank was little less than 5″ deep as I recall.

If you can take off the whole access cover I would, gives ya way more room.

By average Joe eyes the top of my sender looked good, but before reinstalling cover threw down some silicone around edge to seal the water from getting in tank area.

Also the screw holes for new sender was just a nudge off. If you find yourself same spot I just hand tightened each one to fit at a slight angle slowly down nice and tight.

Read 9 out 10 times it’s the sender that’s whacked and started there, so of course for me it was the gauge doah after doing the sender doah doah
