I was lucky enough to be able to get out for a day in the boat during my family vacation a week ago.
24 of my family converge to Ft. Myers Beach every May for a week for some fun in the sun. I rented a boat the second to last day and headed out into the gulf about 2 miles out. Just so no one thinks I’m crazy I have went with guides and also friends the last 3 or 4 years, so I know the lay of the land down there when it comes to running a boat.
We got our shark lines out and about 30 minutes into sitting on a reef – we hook into this massive (what I thought was a bull shark) tiger shark. Tiger shark was at the top of my bucket list and I was able to cross it off in a big way. My biggest fish to date. All of my cousins got a turn at the reel and my son didn’t think he could handle it so he sat back and filmed.
