Hi everyone, will a Milwaukee M18 with the max torque run an 8″ strikemaster laser hand auger or power auger? Has anyone been doing it with the Strikemaster Power Auger Adapter?

I know this topic gets posted a lot, but I got tired of sifting through the search engine results.

    Thanks

Lots of people do it. I use a Dewalt and 8″ Nils, works fine.

Get the clam plate. After last year I will not run just a drill and auger. It works great till about 12 inches. The. You’ll want the plate. The handle just doesn’t hold up as well with more ice. Don’t get me wrong though I love my kdrill Milwaukee combo. Just wont use it without the clam plate

Yes. It will work fine. Be mindful that an 8″ bit will chew battery fairly quick.

I run a strikemaster on a drill from work so I have a endless supply of batteries. Turns it very well.

I’ll try to avoid the Ford/Chevy thing but I recommended that a close friend buy the Milwaukee and an 8″ k-drill. We didn’t make it one season without breaking the handle off of the drill.

I started to do some research and it sounds very common for the Milwaukee handle mount to crack while the Dewalt drills have had no issue with the handle breaking off.. I assume this is because Dewalt has a completely different handle design. Based off of your OP is sounds like you already have the Milwaukee? If so I’d recommend getting a Clam plate but if you want to just give it a try and see how it goes it does sound like Milwaukee is warranting these when they crack. Good luck.
