I recently added a 7mm-08 to the arsenal and I was wondering if anyone has a suggestion for a good factory load for deer hunting. I’m trying to not overthink it and am looking for a 140 or 150 grain load for all around whitetail hunting.

I don’t hunt deer with fragmenting lead bullets, so all I would be able to suggest is the Barnes VOR-TX. Buddy of mine shoots the factory loads, but I think they are lighter than the 140 your looking for. I know his 7/08 does a great job on whitetail and mulies

Thanks, Guys. Those two are on a list to try along with the 140 gr. Hornady American Whitetail load.

I’ve read good reviews on all three. Randy, I know the load you mentioned comes in a 120 and 140 grain load. Your buddy must be using the 120’s.

I talked my buddy Dave and he is using the 120s. For his gun, they patterned better than 140gr.
