798ci hd died today …

So, my 798ci hd died today … started acting funny then started to flicker and ended up with a white screen and eventually no screen at all. I pulled it from my boat mount and put it in my portable ice mount with a fully charged battery and same thing … no screen. so I guess it’s indeed dead.

My question is whether or not I will be able to save my waypoints … I have a Lakemaps series 3 SD card in the unit. Any chance that is where the waypoint data is stored? and if so, how can I use that data on a future gps/sonar? I was thinking about a new unit for my boat anyway, but I really liked using the 798ci hd on the ice because of the gps.

Gave my map card to a buddy to use in his unit and all my waypoints were on the card when he plugged it into his finder. You should be able to plug that card into your new unit.

Humminbird waypoints are stored in the internal memory unless you physically copy them to a SD card. Read this:
