I’ll offer up “good luck” getting that 4 stroke to troll down. I had an ’06 30 Merc 4 stroke tiller on my Lund 18SSV and I ended up adding a Happy Troller flip-up onto the motor for trolling. I ended up trading in the Merc on an Etec 40 tiller with selectable low rpm switch (and couldn’t be happier).

Really believe you will have a tough time propping your motor to perform both speed and troll duties,, just based on my experience with 4 stroke and factory set ECM.

    I have a 1675 Adventure Tiller with a 60 Merc.

I don’t have problems with slow trolling since I have Troll Control on the tiller. If the wind is somewhat calm I can dial down to about 1.3/1.5 MPH at 700 RPM.

I did have a big problem coming up on plane quickly though. I went to a local prop shop and they recommended a 13.25 X 17 prop. Solved all my problems.

    Al,
We need to know what year this package is, and whether or not you have the “standard” 60 lower unit or the CT Command Thrust (Big Foot) lower unit.

Some of the mid-2000 vintage 60 4S’s had a mis-adjusted brass idle screw, that possibly needs to be filed-down, to get your idle rpm correct. Do you have a tachometer so you know where you are?
