Normally chase walleye and SM live bait or trolling but was not able to get out until this afternoon at high noon so thought I would switch things up. Gave my son a 5 min tutorial on how to work the bait and let him go.
I gave him all the room he needed on the shore side of the boat and I started with a title shot jig head married up to a 5 inch swim bait and we started to work along the shoreline. He had Three fish explode in his bait but was not able to close the deal. I Switched out his rod for a faster tip rod and that did the trick. 4 for 4 with a very nice 18 inch as his first. Dad ended up with a couple Northerns on the swimbaits, more fun watching Blake on the topwater though.
