Tenpoint Viper 430 versus Ravin 10X
These 2 are your ONLY options smash
Which would you choose and why?

Ravin crossbows are made locally in Superior, Wisconsin waytogo

If and when I ever buy a crossbow it will be a Ravin just for the simple fact that the money will be paying the wages of people in my neighborhood (not to mention that they make an awesome product)

That’s exactly why I chose a Ravin. I am not disappointed in any way.

I’ve never shot the TenPoint, but my Ravin R10 is an absolute hammer. Super accurate, relatively light, and so accurate I quit shooting the same target after my first time shooting due to wrecking a couple bolts. I like fixed blades, and it has brought down 2 nice bucks within 100 yards of impact. You won’t be disappointed with a Ravin.

Never heard a single bad thing about a Ravin, but I have no experience personally. Just know those who have them love them.

Thanks guys for the input. If I’m not mistaken, both companies are U.S. based.

It is my understanding that Ravin is owned by “Velocity Outdoor”, who in turn is owned by “The Compass Diversified Group”.

Ten Point on the other hand was as of 2022, family-owned and operated, based out of Ohio. I believe it remains that way today.

I find it interesting that one company is owned by a big conglomerate and the other founded and owned by a member of the Archery Hall of Fame.

This is the “why” that is important to me as a consumer.

In my research I find the warranties from both companies provide similar coverage except Ravin’s warranty is only 5 years, whereas TenPoint is lifetime of the original owner. Both warranties are non-transferable to a second owner.

I still have yet to decide which brand to go with, the R10X versus the Viper430, both have their individual strong points.

I have 2 buddies that own tenpoint and both love them. I don’t know anyone with a ravin but all online things I find give them 5 stars.

Probably… rotflol JK!!! They are kind of front heavy, but Ravins are lighter than most xbows that I’m aware of. R10 weighs 6.8 lbs, TenPoint is 7.5 lbs. I shoot off a bipod which obviously helps.
