Yes I bought tickets. Could you ever spend that much? Would love to try. Would rather see them give out that much in 10 million dollar winnings. More people to win. I could budget 10 for the rest of my life.

MegaMillions is that high? Powerball recently went out I think. I agree, that is a ton of dough for a single person to win. That kind of money and then people come out of the woodwork asking for handouts.
I cant recall, can you stay anonymous in MN now?

    Yes.

$593m jackpot is about a $300m payout. Then taxes. You end up with approx $210M.

    Good Luck.

p.s. yes, I do have a couple tickets!

JJ by payout I assume you mean taking the cash option. I think you are giving to much way when the total is nearly $600 million. I think I’d take that over 20 years.

I wouldn’t want to spend it all, just most of it whistling . Put half in investments and spend the other half. And while I’d probably take the anonymous and cash options, there would be signs…And the next IDO get together would be LIT (as the kids say)! rotflol

Honestly, the fun thoughts are worth the price of the tickets. I’d grab my wife, and go hunt and fish around the world. Make good investments and let my siblings and parents retire comfortably. Then buy a bunch of land, and build a new dream house. Then with the 100s of millions left, I’d invest it in ways so that it’s making me more money than I could spend in a year. That part is crucial. Then when we have kids. I’d love the wealth to spread for generations. But I’d certainly have fun with it!

I happened to pick up a couple tickets today and decided as I was backing away from the store, the first thing on order would be a WX2200 loaded out and then an 18′ lund alaskan with a 70 yamaha tiller… after I placed the order I would drive up the road from the dealer and buy the 400 acres of missouri river frontage to build a schouse or 2, and hunt some large game. After that I would head for the northwoods in search of a cabin and or land.

1968 Charger for me – I like the round taillights and signal lights.

I’d buy large pieces of ag land for sure as my main investment. I’d be sure my parents, siblings, and in-laws didn’t have to work more than they wished.

Realistically with a 2 year old and another on the way, I’m not sure how much differently I’d live my day to day life. We’d travel more for sure, but other than that we’d focus on investing.

I would lose it all in minutes on 0 date options. No doubt. Better if I don’t win

And to think, the way the game is structured you have the same chance of winning a dollar as you do 593 million.

I would buy a small hardware store in northern MN where I’d also have a shelf of goodies for sale from Sharon’s Bakery. I’d have a table with a checker board built in and several bait tanks so that I could play with minnows and leaches all day long. 😊😊
This is seriously a dream of mine and I might not wait to win the lottery to do it some day!

I have always said when I retire, I want to be surrounded by old outboard motors, bait tanks, stained coffee mugs, and good ol’ boys telling lies. I will sell minnows to keep the coffee in supply and fix the motors so the good ol’ boys can get out on the lake and make up more lies!

Sounds like your hardware store should be just around the corner!

Well, it’s up to 630 million. Anybody here win anything?

The things I really want in life money can’t buy. I’ve lost too many friends and I’m the oldest on my family tree since I was 45.

But if I won I’d buy a large farm and grow hay and beef cattle. They would be the happiest cattle until…

My 30 dollar investment paid back 100. So 70 profit, invested the 100 to try again. It’s not about the happiness for me, it would be about comfort for all my kids and loved ones. I could tell you I wouldn’t work in concrete any more. Or I’d start my own concrete company. But if my odds were as terrible as you said to win a dollar and I pulled a 100 then I’m set for the next drawing.

A large majority goes right back to Minnesota natural environment fund. So if you like the outdoors you this is a beneficial way to get big bucks back in to it.
But what the dnr and environmental people do is another question

A large portion of that fund has nothing to do with natural environment and if the outdoors related people who really supported this in the first place knew that they would be irate.

I don’t think there’s much to be irate about. I just read what the lottery office says where it distributes the money. Mn environmental agency and mn dnr. Im sure the state profits huge as well. I guess they made the lottery the handle the money its every one’s choice to play. Doesn’t seem like much to be mad about. And yes a good portion does go back in to the outdoors. So the state says.
I’m not really a gambler. I buy tickets to the Power ball maybe 2 times a year

You need to dig into where the funds actually go for the “MN Environmental agency”. The largest portion of the funds go to things not at all associated with the environment or the outdoors but rather things like performing arts.
