Snowing right now here, bring it on! Big winds also though which is not good, ice making temps coming. Longtrack is ready, just need some eyeball deep snow again for some fun. I have my Smitty ready to go until then.Fish safe.
November 18, 2015 at 7:39 am #1577890Funny tons of worms out right now. They will all be frozen tomorrow!
November 18, 2015 at 7:43 am #1577891It can be done but I dont think you’ll like the pressure.

Povlitzki’s in Spring Lake Park. Might even need to drive up to Chico’s on 169.

All the way? Outside of very small and shallow sloughs or lakes I wouldn’t expect many options, if any. I’ve attached a screen shot from Accuweather for I-Falls for the next week. There’s some below zero temps in there but nothing extremely cold. And next week the day time highs bounce back into the low to mid-30’s with overnight lows in the mid-20’s. After the T-day weekend things start to look better for making ice.

November 18, 2015 at 10:53 am #1577970It’s supposed to be close to 50 again toward the weekend here in N/E South Dakota. We still had mid 40 deg water as of last weekend. It’s going to be some time before we see any ice out here.

Yeah I should’ve added a smiley to that post as it’s really just a pipe dream this year and I wasn’t serious. Plan B metro skis is what it’ll be.

Not a bad plan B at all. Anything to keep a guy away from the crazies on Black Friday is time well spent.
November 18, 2015 at 11:36 am #1577982I should have never put the boat away.
Next year I’ll have a garage for the boat so I can keep it accessible year round.
November 18, 2015 at 11:56 am #1577985The best thing one could hope for right now is 6-8″ of snow but there doesn’t appear to be anything substantial in the near term forecast. Get a nice coating of white to absorb some of that latent heat and provide reflectivity to depress the temps.
