I just bbought a 2013 lund 1825 pro guide. It has a mercury 90hp 4 stroke on it. It did not come with a owners manual. Just wondering what oil you guys run in these motors? Never had anything but 2strokes before. Also what is the oil capacity on the motor? Thanks for any help.

Google the owners manual. See page 23 for oil requirements.

    Google search on:

    2013 mercury 90hp 4 stroke owners manual

    download the .pdf file.

A lot of us here would go to using Mobil 1 full synthetic.

    Good luck.

Amsoil I used to be a Mobil 1 user, hate how quickly it darkens now, compared to years ago.

The Amsoil is still the same clarity and honey color as it was when I poured it in.

I have always ran non-oxy in my boats and planed to in this one to. But i have been told to run regular 87 with stabilizer. Hard to find 91 non-oxy without ethanol more less 87 without it. Ethanol just scares me, I’ve heard to many horror stories. About the oil, mercury quicksilver has 2 weights. 10w-30 and 25w-40 I think. Which one is the way to go? Thanks for the help.

The oil weight will depend on the temperatures you fish in. I don’t know where you live, but here in SE Wisconsin, I always run 10W30 because it covers the temps I fish in, including fishing until ice up. The 25W40 is for warmer climate use. Having said that, this year when I purchased Amsoil, they were out of stock on the 10W30 and said I should be fine with the heavier 25W40 synthetic. Only the coming cold weather will tell me if that was the right choice I guess!
