I made it down Saturday afternoon. The ramp was in great shape with no ice shelf. There was a lot of big chunks of ice floating in the channel but by hugging one side of the channel or the other, I could get up on plane during the day. After dark, I just stayed off-plane and went slow. The channel was iced over shore-to-shore just above the railroad bridge so I couldn’t reach the airport area. I fished the channel, channel edge, and wing dams using a variety of techniques during the day but didn’t get a bite. At dark I tried pitching a couple of wing dams but couldn’t even get a bite at prime time. The weather was great with warm temperatures and very light winds. With the nice weather, I was surprised to see just a couple of other boats out.
