With the opener would this launch be crowded? Levels are down and would think the river is manageable-very little river knowledge though( to say the least)

Probably won’t be crowded but as of Sunday it was still closed. Even if the water goes down they have to et in there and clean up the mud.

We used to fish pool 2 for years on opener just for the lack of crowds. I remember pulling into the ramp mid morning on opener and being the 1st person there. The walleye bite was usually decent to. Should still be good this weekend even with lower water levels. Reports I heard from last weekend where very good.
Is 494 open now?
Good luck.
As of this morning, prolly not
Well you were standing right there, was it still barricaded or no?
Checked it out today. The ramp still has the barricades up and the city isn’t planning on opening it up any time soon.

We were down on P2 on 5/4 and saw two boats drop in at 494.. The must have moved them and got a slap on the hand or it could have been someone with the authority to do so. I have been using Hidden Harbor.River heights has been letting boats out since this time as well.
I will talk to the guys at St Paul Park and see if they have a planned date to clean up and open the Levee. If I hear anything I will post it up here. Were moving in the right direction anyways and looking forward to getting back down there.
Most ramps must be open by now, right????
Lilydale, hidden falls, ft Snelling still closed last I checked. Have not called watergate but Crosby is still barricaded so who knows.
The river gauge shows things are down but there still seems to be a lot of water in pool 2.
Looks like Watergate is still closed too. Man, this is getting frustrating! NO MORE RAIN!!
is 494 open? That pic with mud from 2 weeks ago looks like it was close.
I might have a 4 day weekend, need me some river eyes
I would doubt it Dave. Willies upper ramp should still be open and well worth the $10 to use during high water.
If we get any break in the weather this weekend good chance Ill be out there or the st croix. With all this high water those fish must be chomping at the bit to hit something.
IDK Mike, last I heard, you don’t even have a boat!
Like that will stop me from fishing. I still have a jon boat. Also very skilled at mooching boat rides.

Mike, I could offer you a seat every weekend for the rest of the summer and I’d still owe you big time
Seriously as soon as the ramps open up, jump in and lets go.

Went out on Friday last week. The Sheriff was at 494 and told us it was closed.
Even Willie’s was closed because they were doing something on the big ramp. I don’t believe it was a long term situation. We launched at Twin City Marina in IGH. They told us they’d lock the ramp up at 5:00 p.m. We took a gamble that we’d be able to pull the boat at a different ramp later, but when we returned around 7 the TC ramp was still open. Phew! Found a few fish but nothing really stacked up like I was hoping for.
Anyway, the water was high then and it’s even higher now. Forecast says its supposed to return to minor flood stage in a week. I don’t mind high water but this is ridiculous.
