494 Access

I haven’t been out on the river since last fall and thought today might be the day to get back at it. After gassing up the truck I went past the 494 access just to see if the city had closed the ramp again.

The good news is that it’s open.

The bad news is that it’s not very usable. The water is into the parking lot a bit, covering the top of the ramp. The dock is still in and it’s covered with big trees and other debris. This effectively blocks both ramps, especially the up stream ramp.

I really wish the city would throw that floating dock away and be done with it. All it does is trap trees and junk and mess up the ramp.

I was planning on using that launch tomorrow morning, what’s the next closest boat launch? And how’s the fishing been in the area? New to fishing this area, any info would be appreciated
    Thank you

Or River Heights Marina (Mississippi Pub). Downstream (south) on the same side of the river. Take Concord to King of Diamonds turn left there and follow the road down to the river/ramp. $10 user fee.
