    Leech Lake Fishing Report

The best times for Leech Lake walleye are early morning and low-light periods. That’s when you’ll find a lot of fish near the reed and cabbage beds in 5-10 ft of water.

Pitching jigs with leeches or minnows has caught the most fish this week, but we’ve also had luck with shad raps when the fish are being particularly stubborn.

During day fishing you’ll need to cover a lot of water and fish a little deeper. Spinner rigs trolled 1.5-2.0 mph and crankbaits trolled 2.0-3.0 mph in 20-30 ft of water are catching great keepers.

Muskie action is killer, too! Lots of big fish are coming off the sand shoreline breaks, and mid lake rock structures. They are biting on inline spinners and top waters right now. I have seen quite a few ≈45” Muskies caught in the last several days – right in front of Trapper’s Landing! August is always a fun time to get out into the boat and the fall bite will be here shortly.

Take advantage of the Trapper’s Landing’s IDO Exclusive sale. You won’t regret it. The lodging is fantastic! And so is the bite! http://www.trapperslandinglodge.com/ido48/

Solid deal! I have been watching the photos and reports all over, and it looks like the fishing is picking back up again! Sounds like Phil has been all over them lately!

I was trying to reserve online and your site states:

“Discount Rate IDO: Rate only available if entire stay is between 8/4/2016 and 8/31/2016.”

Over 18%? Something has to be wrong there…

Give me a call on the Spetember dates please. That way I can get you booked in. They had an error on the website. 218-836-2500. Sorry it took so long to get back guys.

    #1633750

Yes it is right around the 18% range. We have normal tax of 6.875%, then we have a 1% road tax through the county, a 3.5% lodging tax and then an resort fee 8%. So it comes out to almost 18% with everything. It is very high, I am working with the new owners of the resort to bring that down.

Again, please call in for September I have an error going on the website, 218-836-2500 and hopefully we can get everybody set up.

    Thanks,

    Josh
