Gezz, Thanks everyone!
And again most of all, a special “Thank you” to Mr. Steve I. who was so thoughtful to have even take the time to pen his poem!
What can I say, ya’ll are very nice to send kind wishes to “She Who Must Be Obeyed”, and me!
We have always commented on the weather during our anniversary. The rehearsal night Fri 4/23/76 there tornadoes sighted in our areas I was flying (driving) back home to Indianola from Des Moines 22 miles exchanging issues with the tuxes. Then the rehearsal went unscaved, but very wet! Saturday, the wedding it never stopped POURING rain! If I remember it could easily top 3 inches during the day.
We went to the Lake of the Ozarks for our honeymoon and the rain didn’t quit. Fact it rained or drizzled or poured every day we were away! On our way home we came back through the Eastern side Iowa and my bride was sleeping in the front bench seat of our car. Right after I crossed into the Southern border of Iowa and highway 2, the sun came out!
Wholey carp! What was to have been a week of sun, beach, boating fun ended up cold, wet and dreary. Well we switched from a beach cabin to the TanTara on the Lake and spent most of the rest inside. We tried a float plane ride at Bagnell Dam but that didn’t work out too well for the new bride.
We do very well as a couple and seem very compatible.
To all of the young married couples or those that are thinking about it I have a bit of wisdom for the secret to a long and happy marriage in just 2 words,
Yes Dear.
Thank you,
Becky and Denny Orfield
