Saw this in the outdoor news.. Wonder how his transducer cord is doing after that but I’m sure it was well worth it for that fish and story.

My father in law had a pike latch on and destroy his Humminbird transducer a few years ago.

I saw my transducer cord wiggling oddly a few years back only to look down the hole and see a hammer handle northern chewing on the transducer. Must have been the clicking. I also didn’t land it. lol.

I guess I didn’t realize that Eagle had muskie in it. I haven’t been on that lake or even had the desire to be on there in ages.

Fished it a handful of times last summer. The boat launch is horrible and the parking is terrible. Theres only 8ish spots.

I was fishing a backwater on the Mississippi, and my transducer started bobbing and I was getting a lot of feedback on the Vexilar. When i pulled up the transducer a 27″ northern slid on the ice. No one believes me. My fish wasn’t a 42″ muskie, but that is interesting that other people have experienced it. I wonder if it is from the ticking noise of the ducer.

One of the reasons I haven’t been there in ages, though I drive past it a lot. waytogo

    Crazy…

While not a transducer, my 80lb Minn Kota trolling motor torpedo has been attacked 2X – once at night on Tonka and the other in the daytime on Bald Eagle. Both times the TM was on ‘constant/low’ and it felt like I had ran into a stump, when the boat started lurching and a violent explosion occurred at the bow. The first incident left teeth marks in my brand new TM.

A buddy of mine who trolls for em has had his planer boards hit multiple times.

Yes, Muskies do things no other freshwater fish will do.

The access is built right into Eagle Creek. Its almost impossible to launch a sizable boat when the water is low…and its been low for 2 seasons now.

You don’t have to worry about wake boats.

Haha. Seriously though, anything more than a 14 foot jon boat would have difficulty with low water. Its that bad.

Eagle was one of my buddy’s secret go-to musky lake in the metro. I fished it once with him MANY years ago and we boated a couple but nothing over 40.

I believe it. I recall fishing there a few times years ago (10+), and my buddy’s 18′ Ranger was not easy to launch there.

French lake, fairbault area, muskrats have claimed more than a few transducers, let alone if you left your house with hole covers off….they’ll move right in, it’s been a few years since this happened, but definitely something you don’t think of when out fishing.

Now I am wondering. When a Muskie hit my trolling motor, was it from the ticking of the transducer on it, the prop moving and sound of that, or the black silhouette in the water.
