    ….was the water temp in Lake Pepin at 5 foot depth in Lake City at 7 this morning. Sad to see the water so high again. No crappies, no hits for that matter, but still a peach of a morning to be casting.

    If it stays high for the next month or so, then absolutely. A rapid rise followed by receding water can do more harm than good for the spawn. Last Spring/Early summer should have been good.

    Hopefully it isn’t too high that the gates all stay open for a long period and make the advance of the invasive carp that much easier.

    For the walleyes and sauger its a good thing. I was after crappies and was a bit put off by it but then its spring and the high water pretty much goes with that season on the big river.
