National shortage due to the surge in popularity of outdoor patio heaters for bars, restaurants, etc. Hope you find one, but better have a plan B as well.

Heard this from a restaurant owner a few months ago. He said that something on 20# tanks would freeze up on the larger heaters because of the rate the propane was being used and 40#ers worked best.

Try Propane Express in Savage. They had a bunch of 40’s there last time I refilled mine.

I got a couple at the Cambridge Tractor Supply the winter of ’18-’19. Best price I found and also best for propane.
    Call TS in Elk River.

JEEEEEEESE – talking about finding a needle in a haystack.
Called at least a dozen places and thought I found one at Menards in Elk River. I spoke with a Gal and she said she had one. I told her I was on my way. Well by the time I drove from Farmington to Elk River she said she sold it and 6 others were in looking for a 40 lb’er also.
Hopped back in the truck and headed north, figured I have one more ace up my sleeve, drove by Marv’s Ace hardware in Princeton gave them a call and the Gal said “I think the we just got a truck and there’s one on there”. Great I’ll turn around and pick it up. waytogo

As you can see when I was plowing thru the slush 2 weeks ago I got quite the build-up.
Glad to report we are slush free the am.

fyi- the tank quit processing liquid petroleum with approx. a 1/3 left. I need to get an electric blanket for the rig.

When I was running commercial projects, I had to use a “Y” connector for 2 100lb tanks to keep from freezing up my tanks. Would any thing like that help yours?

Yes, and that will be plan “B” if needed (another guy from Iowa(boy1) suggested the same thing.

Tractor supply in Cambridge typically always has them when needed and the cheapest refill in the area

    #100 was a last resort.
This ole man is done lifting those in and out of the vehicle. Plus I’m not a fan of laying them on there side in the back of the PU.

Heck the #40 weigh 72lbs when it was filled. sad I’m getting use to the 12oz’ers.

FWIW – I was bs’n with the guy filling the tank and we started talking about the 1lb’ers he said he can’t keep them in stock and when I asked him why he said people will come in and buy him out just to re-sell them on ebay. He put’s a limit on them and the people will go sit in there car for 5 minutes and walk back in.
    What is wrong with people???

I have an 11 lb tank that works fairly well for a day or even a light weekend trip with a big buddy. Probably won’t get you through 2 full days but it seems to work ok. What do folks need a 40lb for? Multiple heaters or hardside furnace or something?
