Unfortunately this isn’t a fishing report.
The good thing is that it’s not a hah sports post either.

Between 6 and 7 am this morning
    Water temp:40
    Current flow is 100,500 cfs

Level in Red Wing is 13.79
    Yesterday’s level was 13.94
    Wednesdays level was 13.75

It appears by today’s forecast, all ramps should be open by Good Friday, a week from today.
If going out, please remember the water is still fast and powerful. PFD’s are always recommended but now is the time to get them off the chair and wear them. Fish with a buddy. Please be mindful of your wake, more so in high water. Watch for those trees that are just below the surface…and lastly, there’s at least one Nav marking just upstream of the Harbor Bar that is underwater. This one will damage hulls along with engines if it’s not seen in time.

    Thanks for the update, BK!

All this waiting, and waiting, is frustrating. But safety first.

It did well overall. I ended up moving it to three locations because of dry land access. The camper always floats but dry access to the dock isn’t always possible.

    P4 is at 12.8 at 7 am this morning. L&D #3 reports 41 degrees.

The WI backchannel ramp should be open tomorrow (Tuesday) although FBRM would tell you it’s open today. LOL! He likes wading in water. )

The rest of the Red Wing ramps well open in the days to follow.

Runnings Farm and Fleet has fatheads in stock and the back channel ramp is just down the road from them.

The Woodshed is back open ($50 rooms are not available this week) and the Harbor bar will be opening in the next couple of days.

It’s still high water. Fish with a friend and wear your pfd please.

Looks like we’ll get a little bump next week from the snowmelt or the predicted rain.

The inch+ of rain forecast for Wednesday is not even factored in yet. I bet the bump will be bigger when they update tomorrow.

Can’t say I’ve been there in a few weeks Brian.

I did wear knee boots this weekend and didn’t launch in pool 4 coffee

Just an FYI for us boaters that would like a dock and more normal water conditions, all the public launches from red wing to LC were closed. Lots of debris in the lots, some full size trees, dock sections, stairs etc. It’s going to take a while to clean up all the mess. Even checked a rarely used PA in the backwaters of Red Wing and the whole road was washed out. Current in the main channel was rippin really good…not my idea of fun. This rain ain’t going to help matters.

It’s hard to cheer a guy up in our delayed spring. crazy

I spent MOST all day Saturday at Bay Point. The city workers will need to do some lot clean up not to mention the tree limbs in the park.

Sunday morning I moved the camper down to the Harbor bar. I was surprised that I didn’t see any large trees going down stream, but whether I’ve seen them or not, it’s the time of year to be extra cautious. There were a few anglers out that were going through Red Wing. I noticed how slow they were going fighting the 100,000 cfs flow and still making a wake. They were going (IMO) as slow as they could go and still maintaining steerage.

The road to the Harbor Bar is in excellent condition considering. However it’s amazing the see the shoulder and how erosion removed so much gravel and rock.

how was the fishing the last few days? the current must be ripping hard! not seen a single post and I imagine there had to be a shipload of boats out of everts and the backchannel this week. I hope everyone stayed safe. I’m waiting for some manageable conditions since I mostly fish by myself with my dog.

The back channel is difficult to launch from… it’s closed like the rest of the Red Wing ramps.:) There were a few boats that passed through Red Wing today.

It was a little breezy but sure was a nice day to be outside.

Got word from the Boat Farm I have access to my boat, now to wait until the ramps open… Starting to drop Thursday at a crest of 14.4′. <sigh>
