Woke up for the first light bite this past weekend, at a reservoir that sits right below 8K. The ice was “Early Iceish”, as we were fishing on 5″ most of the day and the middle of the lake was a giant sponge spot. We fished near the dam all morning and were mostly between 4-15 FOW.
The bite was INSANE! We had our best Quality and Quantity combination day of the ice so far this season, or maybe even in the last two seasons…All 3 of us broke PB’s of some sort, with my GF and I breaking our Ice PB’s for any species.
Tube jigs (Green pumpkin or chartreuse) and 1/16oz pink tungsten jigs were the way to go as Cutbows, Snake River Cutthroat, and Rainbows couldn’t resist them all morning!
Hope you guys enjoy the video and/or the pics!!
