Not sure if many others think of this rod as a walleye rod, but I love it. It is great for smaller jigging spoons (1/4 oz or less). I used it up on red and on Mille lacs and it performed great. I swapped my 48″ st croix legend silver for it and it was just what I was looking for.

Anyone else use it for eyes?

i bought this rod a couple of weeks ago so i could hole hope for bluegills and crappie so i don’t have to get down on my knees and i love it for those fish. i haven’t tried it for anything else yet but i could see it being a good walleye rod. have you ever used rippin raps and slab raps with it at all? was wondering if it can handle those kind of baits with the flat tip on the rod. thanks for the question. never really thought of using the rod for walleyes.

I’ve been looking at picking up the 38″ light ticklestick in hopes that it would be a good multi species hole hopping rod. So I like that this thread is sort of confirming my thoughts. I know you guys are talking about the Widowmaker but I the ticklestick might fit the bill as well.

I have not tried using it with ripping raps or slab raps but I will be out this week and might give it a try.

I have the 42″ Hole Hopper. I’ll have to give it a try for Walleyes. Up until know, I’ve been mainly using 1/16-1/8 spoons and medium to large tungsten jigs on it. Those load the rod perfectly.

The rod worked great for the smaller size slab rap. Didn’t catch anything on it but did have a hit.
