Hello this fall I plan to do some river fishing from shore for walleyes. I would like to get a tackle bag that hold 4 of the medium plastic trays. My problem is almost every plano bag from walmart or else where I can hardly get 4 to fit without shoving them in weekender series and others any suggestions I’m not looking for a very spendy one 25-35 no frills plain jane would be great for me. I have actually returned 3 bags back because they were so hard to cram in. I hae many of my own trays so it’s not a big deal how good those are.

Instead of a tackle bag maybe a small wheeled duffel bag or cart may fit the bill if you have a long ways to haul a bunch of stuff.

Never thought of a back pack just any old one or a fishing designed one?

I have a Wild River version backpack. It’s great for exactly what you are using for. I also use it for ice when I’m walking out.

    Bunch of versions out there.

Are they restricting when wearing a heavy ice fishing jacket or regular jacket in the fall? Never wore a back pack but like the idea of free hands for rods and net.

Which ever you would like can go cheap or real nice but can probably carry a few extra items. And much easier to carry to a bank.

Nope…no issues moving around in them at all. Plus, the wild river has a small led light built into. Super convenient.

If all you are looking to do is carry a few plastic boxes any old backpack would do. Added benefit it can also carry some gloves, a light jacket, a water bottle…any number of helpful items. Im cheap so I would just grab what’s laying around and make use of it myself

This is what I’d do. When I hike the river and fish I just steal my sons back pack. It’s just some Walmart camo bag. Nothing special. 15 20 bucks and it holds all I need plus a hoodie and water bottles. Pliers and what ever else I need.

There is way too much common sense in these posts.

I used to do that too but now I have go bags so I’m not always sorting tackle and gear. Pliers, knives, line, etc in each bag or box. Specific boxes for gear that only gets used in the boat. Boxes for river fishing, etc. keeps me better organized and fast when I’m ready to go. Worth the extra cost but just a backpack would do.

Just please, leave the Crocs and the Fanny pack at home.

The crocs never stay home. They are close to being considered my wing man.
Now a fanny pack I don’t do YET
