Moderation Cap’t. And I say no thanks to a lot more.

As for the water…..at one time in my life I drank over a case of beer a day. My body was accustomed to being “wet” so when I quite the beer and the booze [cold turkey] I drank huge amounts of water and pop. I cut back on pop a few years ago and went to the diet stuff but stuck with a lot of water. The pop was a huge weight maker for me and has been a big part in the weight I’ve lost thus far.

I like a cold beer every once in a while but will most likely have a Sharps instead. I make wine and will have a short glass of it when bottle gets opened for company but Ma and I don’t open wine just to drink ourselves. I have a jug of bourbon that’s been on the counter top for a couple years that I use to make a bourbon glaze for grilled beef and might pour a finger of it in a glass with an ice cube to sip on while I’m making tackle but for the most part I am a water guy and dump a lot down the pipe every day. Winter isn’t so bad for me but the summer months I sweat like a banshee because of meds and have to keep the fluid intake real constant. I mix up the power aid sticks in 20 ounce bottles and keep them in the fridge in the summer having one of those then a bottle of water and alternate so I keep electrolytes and minerals in me. I drink very little alcohol to begin with but even less in the summer.

This weight lose was to address easier breathing with the copd and to help get the afib events reigned in without having to go thru some psy-fi procedure or take more meds that give limited relief. I had one small event yesterday that I hardly was aware so I know losing this weight and behaving at the plate has already paid me a dividend and that alone is incentive enough to keep me focused.
