Anybody own one? How has it been over-all, any issues? If you stay in the 35-40 MPH range would you say the fuel economy is ok or does it get pretty thirsty?

    Thank you.

The V8 has had nothing but positive feedback in my circle fishing friends…

Which one? NA V8 or SC i6?

Umm, haven’t looked into it that far I guess. It’s a 2016 if that matters.

The V8 came out in 2018. A 2016 would have to be an inline 6 with a supercharger. I have one and it has been good. Really quiet and smooth motor. If memory serves 40-44 mph I burn about 12 gallons an hour. Wide open at about 56 mph and 6300 Rpm’s it burns about 24 gallons per hour.

Although not a 300, my dad runs a 2016 225 Verado, if memory serves me correctly he had just over 2500 hrs on it when he sold the boat last fall. He typically ran in the 40-45mph range. He used the motor for trolling also so a typical 2 day trip on Devils Lake used about 14-18 gallons. Other than oil changes and normal maintenance items he never had a bit of trouble with it.

I have the supercharged 6 but its a 225hp rating. They are all the same motor, just calibration difference to make different power. Lots of people buy 225’s and slap an ecm on and make them 300’s. I had an IMAT sensor go out on it but that’s the only trouble it has given me. Seems like a great motor. Quiet, instant response, starts and idles better than most cars, even when its cold. I haven’t put thousands of hours on it and I only run in the 25 to 30 mph range. I usually shoot for best fuel economy in the 3000 to 3300 rpm range which puts my 2050 reata at about 25 to 28 mph and around 3.8 or 4 mpg. It has a huge fuel tank and I only filled it a couple times last year and put about 50 hours on the motor. I think it is somewhere in the 6 to 6.5 gph range at that cruise speed. I did a few WOT runs and the boat tops out around 51mph. Plenty fast for me…saying this as you might be able to save some money by getting an unmodified 225 and converting it to 300 if thats what your application needs.

I had had a 250 Verado (same thing) on my last boat. It was an awesome motor and extremely quiet. The fly-by-wire shifting and throttle was killer, as was the power steering.

Once you start the kicker remember to shut off the Verado. I put a fair amount of unnecessary hours on mine because I forgot it was running jester

I had a 200 on my tiller, 300 on this 202 and a buddy has a 175 on a 2010 Lund. All three have been good mechanically. And they all will suck gas if you slam the hammer down. Run 30-35 mph it’s not bad.

Been extremely pleased with my 200. Really good on gas and the dts controls are fantastic.
