I have read about pulling three ways on the river in current seams etc.. When using this technique are you typically going up stream or down? Do you usually pull a crawler harness with a spinner, crawler without spinner, just a plain hook and minnow, crankbait etc.?

    Thanks in advance!

All the above techniques will work. A 3way simply keep you bait in place and you can work upstream, cross current or right in place at anchor. Apply it to the specific area you are fishing. I have had the best results running baits with no spinner. Half crawler on a slow death hook, chubs, bullies or similar baits. I prefer to use 3 ways on rock transitions and seams where you have the fish pinned into a small area. I have also had really good luck fishing wood piles. I just drop the bait down and use the trolling motor to hold or pull the baits in and out of wood jams. You loose a few baits but one of the best way to pull walleyes out of the wood.

IF you are fishing a border water, you can use two lures as well. Heavy jig and plastic for the drop line and live bait or stick bait on the other side.

Thanks for all the tips. Headed down to pepin for our annual campinga nd fishing weekend and with the predicted terrible weather I am thinking are usual routine of pulling cranks or spinners will not be the ticket given the cold front rolling in. I am thinking of hitting the river instead.

Any location / structure/ presentation tips on what you would do this weekend given the weather rolling in?
