3 bank charger wiring question

    Hello,
I have an early 2000 three bank charger. Purchased a 24v trolling motor when I used to have a 12v on it.

I have two batteries wired in series for the trolling motor up front and a single battery in back.

When I wire up the leads for the 3 bank charger do I just wire them up normally with a pair of leads going to each battery?

Do I need to unhook any of the 24v wiring when charging this way?

    Thanks in advance!

Check your charger as my 3 bank has a lead marked for starting battery only, it charges at a different rate and charge curve.

Thanks! Given how old my three bank charger is I am going to buy a new one with a maintenance mode.

Thanks for taking the time to read my question and offer advice!

Is it a 3 bank 12VDC charger or did you get a 3bank 12V/24VDC charger with module? completely different wiring if you have the 24V charger

My response had a typo. It is a 1999 3 bank charger. No maintenance mode etc.

It’s time for a new one so
I can leave it plugged in year round.

Any recommendations for a new three bank that has maintenance mode that is not overly expensive?

A 3 bank with as many amps per bank as you want to pay for. Do you need it to charge in an afternoon? Overnight? All week?

I have a Minn Kota 3 bank charger charging 3 group 29 interstates. I pull Raps on the river all day and the batteries have always been fully charged the next morning. I leave it plugged in all winter and haven’t had to add any water to the batteries so I assume it is doing a pretty good job.

Digital or the Precision and which amp/bank?

I’ve had a MinnKota 2 bank 10 amp/bank digital for the last 4 years with no issues. On the new rig I’m putting a MinnKota 3 bank 15 amp/bank precision on it. The boat hasn’t been rigged yet so no feedback on its performance.
