3.0 duramax

Anyone have any experience with the duramax 3.0 in a half ton truck? Any problems or how it tows? Kicking around he idea of getting that motor since the upgrade price is comparable to the gas engine

I have one. Limited towing so far, just got it in October. Pulls the utility trailer and tractor, or atv way better than my 5.3. I am averaging over 26 mpg combined at 5500 miles.

Whats the starting price on one of these?

Sticker price in my area for a 4×4 lt crew cab is around 49-50,000 for a fairly equipped truck. Andnaturally the more options the higher the price. The diesel enigine appears to be a $2300 upgrade but they are pricing them almost the same as a 5.3.

I heard they reduced the price, but it was the same as getting the 6.2.

According to the specs, the towing capacity of the Duramax 3.0 i6 trucks are not as high as the 5.3 or 6.2 with the max trailering package. I have the 5.3 with max trailering and it pulls my 28 foot camper or boat without any problem. Mileage sucks when pulling the camper, but it has plenty of power to run 80 mph without breathing hard.
