2d vs. DI for bow

I fish a lot from my bow, primarily LM/SM bass, i already have a helix 9 si for my council, looking at a helix 7 g2n for bow. My trolling motor has the US2 universal 2d sonar built in, so I could buy just the head unit with no transducer and save some money, or i can go with the DI unit and mount the transducer on my terrova.

Is the DI better than 2D?
Will the external transducer have interference on trolling motor?

Look forward to hearing thoughts on the matter

I mounted the DI transducer on the trolling motor. For muskie fishing this works very well and should for bass fishing also. Here are some instructions on how to run the cable.

Different, not sure I would say better or worse.

For those who’ve tried DI on a bow mount how well does this work? Do you like it?

Where I’m going is since this is a flat beam instead of a cone it will scan at different angles to the boat. As opposed to being perpendicular to the transom it’s cockeyed or ever changing.

DI does not work unless the boat is moving if vertical jigging or sitting stationary 2D all the way.

So if you could choose from the G1 helix 9 2d or the G2N helix 7 di what would you pick?

Used the di ice fishing one year and works just fine stationary.

DI is just another tool, sometimes it’s useful other times not so much. For me it shines on distinguishing weed and weed lines, rather than the blobs that show up on 2d. Personally would rather have it than not.
