Looking for suggestions on what a good circuit breaker is for a 24v 80lb thrust Terrova. Over the weekend I was using the Terrova to troll and had it up at 9 and 10 and it would completely shut down. Assuming the existing breaker was tripping and auto resetting. Looks like the existing breaker is only 40 amp so I am guessing that is the main problem. Planning on going up to the recommended 60 amp breaker and double checking the wire gauge size. My guess is the wiring and breaker was all setup for an older trolling motor and the guy that I bought the boat from never upgraded it when he installed the Terrova. Anyone have a brand/style breaker they have had good luck with that they would recommend? Looks like Minnkota sells one, but you can get knock offs on amazon that are half price.

You are correct you need a 60 amp breaker and the correct wire for the length from the batteries. You will also want to make sure your plug and receptacle are rated for the current. Here is a link that will give you what you need.

I’m a fan of made in NA Buss products, I’d recommend their CB285-60. Be advised, there are many made in China “clones” of these, including the one that Minn-Kota now sells.

Yep, spend the money and get the Bussmann CB285. I went through 2 of the cheap Chinses E-Bay ones.

Do you think the Blue Sea Systems are of equal quality? Looks like the Bussmann CB285-60 are not available on amazon currently.
