Has anyone seen this new cartridge yet? Looks like a great new round for some long range builds waytogo

My buddy and I were just discussing this round. Was thinking of getting an upper built around it to see what it can do. Could be a very sweet varmint getter.

An interesting development, but I think the .22 Nosler ate most of the Valkyrie’s lunch so far. Nosler went full court press with the intro of the .22 Nosler including making sure brass and data was available for handloaders, as well as factory ammo.

The Valkyrie is tuned toward shooting heavier bullets, so IMO this puts it into kind of an odd position. I have questions about how well this proposition will be received by the long range guys because I wonder why would they want a Valkyrie when they could have a hot 6 or 6.5 MM that has even better long range performance?

I wouldn’t use one for varmints simply because it would be cost prohibitive for me to sling 90-grain pills all day instead of the much cheaper 50 grainers.

Certainly an interesting cartridge, it will be worth watching to see how well it catches on.

I bet it catches on pretty well! they do say wind drift and drop are less than a 6.5mm grendel which i find a little crazy. we’ll have to wait and see where costs are at for handloading for it I suppose.

Interesting. I’ve heard some chatter, but haven’t really looked into it much until today. Looks very much like they tweaked the 22-250 down a bit for the /15 platform. With the limited searches I did, I couldn’t find much on load data yet – and even some of what is out there is very questionable.
The claims are quite remarkable considering the brass size, potential charge used, and projecting a 90gr bullet.
In comparison, a 22-250 with a 55gr bullet and larger charge is about 950 feet/sec @1000 yrds compared to the Approx 1150feet/second @ 1300yrds. These numbers are all very loose as so many variables go into it.
Regardless, its a screamer. I would love to have one out for a day shooting p/dogs peace

How long do you thing these barrels will last driving that much powder and a 90 grain bullet down that little hole ;)

Jp has one with 5k rounds down it. My upper will be here Monday.

22 nosler shoots. My buddy has one and we had sub moa groups at 100 yards in 15 min, banging 380 yard 5×5 gong 5 minutes after that. The published velocity is a stretched a little as what we loaded was 135 fps under and had primer pocket blowout.
