Just curious what everyone is getting for performance at 5000 rpms. I have stock prop from yamaha and am running nicely at 30mph +/-. Am wondering if changing to SS prop/different prop size would increase the “nice” cruising speed to around 34mph at 5000 rpm’s. Any thoughts or comments welcome

I am not looking to gain a bunch of speed but was curious how everyones rigs are performing

Is 5,000 all the motor is reaching or is that just where you want to run it at? I believe you should be able to get another 1,000+rpm out of that motor no problem.

Boat tops out just over 36 mph. This is just the RPM range I’m looking for. Looking for Best fuel economy and best cruising speed

    Hi Dave,

I have a 115 Sho in the second mounting hole.

I tried a 15 p 4 blade Nemesis for a week I was getting 36 – 38 depending on conditions, my rpm was between 6100 and 6250. I can do almost 100% trim before a blow out, it’s night and day from the factory 17 p 3 blade the dealer put on but I lost 2-3 mph.

I did a full week of fishing on 1 tank of gas, with easily 200 miles distance over all for the week.
