2025 Turkey Season

My wife called me at lunch today to let me know she got a turkey. The only issue is that she didn’t have a tag and wasn’t on our property hunting.

If anyone wants to know what a windshield on a 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L costs…I should know here shortly when she calls back smash

These stupid things are thick around here. Shoot as many as you can folks.

No glass coverage ? Why would you ever pay that out of pocket?

Well my 25 season was a quick one.
I got within about 150 yards of his roost and he came in on a string.

    Nice job Grubson!

I filled my tag too this morning, finally. 3.5 days of hunting and 90 turkeys later. 3 hens and 2 toms came past at 45 yards around 8am and I dusted one of the toms.

The amount of wildlife I have seen in a few days is astonishing. Over 90 turkeys, about 30 deer, and too many pheasants to count. They are flourishing out there. These snowless winters must be helping.

Not quite the middle but yes, the blind was way out in the field as opposed to the edge.

Got my bird after the storm this week, almost in our backyard.

    My first snowbird ever toast

Could have killed him at 50 yards but I let him close the distance to hear the “ptt-vrooom” at 7 yards for the fun of it grin

Wish I had a cameraman filming it, probably the funnest turkey I’ve ever killed.

He put on quite the show for the plastic lady and I grin

It was the fourth tag we filled (3 MN and 1 WI), Ben still has his WI tag to fill and I’m not spending $70 something dollars on an adult tag to kill a stupid turkey there.

We’ve eaten some Dutch oven drummies/wings and brined/fried turkey boobies so far.

I only heard one gobble today way off in the distance, kept talking to him back-and-forth for almost an hour, finally he made his way over to me, I let him have his way with my breeding hen until a rage spoiled his day.

The amount of wildlife is pretty absurd. Quite often I would see turkeys, deer, and pheasants all on the field at once together.
