I took the nephews out today and Max found his first! The wind got to them so we weren’t able to stay out and find one for his brother.

Great job.
We snuck out for the last couple hours before the snow started, and it paid off. The bigger 5 point side is a buck I was hoping to find.
Lets see some antlers guys.
Here’s this afternoons finds on the truck, and all the antlers off the same farm this year.

Dang nice finds bud. I’m going to go out tomorrow at some time. Figured we’d ride the wheelers to the farm and spend a couple hours looking for sheds and seeing what the tracks tell us.

You’re killing it!!
I went for a walk in our woods today. We have a good 2-4 inches of snow yet in most of the wooded area. But somehow I managed to find 3 sheds. All 3 are from last year. Still really cool to find, but I have no idea how I missed them before. I walk these spots regularly.
Squirrels really feasted on this one. Not sure yet what buck it was.
Here’s the dogs two best from today’s walk. Between the two of us we picked up 5 more.
First shed hunt of the year…no sheds but son found a buck that was shot by a member of our party last day of rifle season…bummer…

That had to be a couple seasons old you’d think right ? I have seen squirrels do alot of damage , but not that fast.
For sure it was over a year old. If there was anything left to identify which buck it was then I could be certain. I know I didn’t get that spot covered well last year, but years before I trampled it pretty well.. I’m no expert. But if that antler was in the right spot for the right squirrel he had 12-13 months to chew.
All I do know is a gotta do a better job finding them fresh.
For you guys that are into the shed hunting stuff, I have a friend that is really into it and finds crazy amounts of horns or antlers or whatever the correct terminology is. Wilderness Enthusiast on U tube.

I’ve learned that I’m not good at that. I find a couple every year but definitely would benefit from a dog. They just don’t jump out at me.
